Im not one for that sort of thing it's prob no better than a standard. You pay for the lugs, and finish. Although my current kit is'nt natural finish, my next kit defo will be.

I own the BP 14" by 5.5" steel snare and I love it. When I was buying it I tried the maple one in question, and was impressed with its sound, however I prefered the steel more for my primary snare. ...

Depends if its used tastefully. Riding a 20" heavy crash for a whole song would not be tasteful.
