if you want triplets you use the groups of 3 .. if you want to shuffle .. you use the groups of 2 ... groups of 4 are a bit harder to work with

i don't quite understand your question ... but using just one hand it's great for playing "stupid fast" on the hats or ride .. .. two hands together can be used for a blast beat or just playing fast...

groove is relative. In death metal, keeping solid time on a blast is the groove and pocket of the song. OR do you mean groove as in playing a standard 2...
