To me Attack and click are one in them same.. Depending on what frequencies that are boosted or taken away determines what kind of click you get. You can hear clearly that wet attack Bonham is...

The point is to have more attack from your kick. Most music today has some kind of click/attack in the kicks including country, jazz,r&b rock and metal. A lot of drummers in the 70's also had clicky...

+1 Using this method, you can get some click using a felt beater also. Pinstripes JAW tuned works great!

Yeah, I don't remember it ever being an issue back when I was out and had a bigger kit. Now i'm down to a four piece which would make life alot easier. That's a positive! I think I'll do as advised...

A large kick with no muffling is hell on a big stage and out doors. If you have a slammin monitor mix where you like your kick to pound ya...It's not gonna happen with an open tuned large kick....

I use this set up and for me I like being able to get my ride low and close over the kick.
