Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

I wasn't sure about them at first because they reminded me of cheaper, old Yamaha kits. These have really grown on me though.

Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

Couldn't resist sharing some more eye candy for you guys.

She got a good banging last night and can honestly say that it's the best sounding drum set I've had in all 20+ years and ten or so drum...

Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

I'm pretty amazed at the sound when I played it in the shop and the overall craftsmanship of the kit. It's very clear the attention to detail on everything and little things like the pencil sized...

Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

Well, I already have a 76 3 ply Ludwig but its 14, 18, 24. I like it but it's just too big.

I have already owned the Yamaha oak custom so I was considering that kit as a nostalgic choice.

Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

It is a beautiful kit both visually and sonically. My only concern is that being so high end it may be to good for the music I'll be playing with it and the venues, travel and abuse it'll end up...

Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

I've had oak, maple, and now birch.

I was thinking either a Ludwig legacy 3 ply maple to match my 76 Ludwig or get another used yamaha oak custom.

Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

Either that... or I can buy a gen 1 yamaha oak custom for half the price. I had an oak custom years ago and loved it.

Re: Noble and Cooley 3pc Walnut

The kit was built this year. The shells are all hand serialized, but not dated. I know it was from a run of kits they did I believe during the spring. It's the Walnut Classic series.

Here's a link...

Ludwig Legacy Maple and Affirm

I have the itch yet again to purchase a new kit and I've been considering a legacy or classic maple luddy.

I am really attracted to the champagne sparkle (pink?) and considering I have an old 76...

Re: Calculating fuel costs

One band pays every gig, about a gig a month, and this is the one which is right next to my office.

The one in Boston is an originals project.
