Re: Spousal Static - A mini Rant

I experienced much the same thing with my first two wives - they acted like they supported what I was doing but passive-aggressively let it be known that they didn't approve or thought it was a silly...

Re: Musically, what are you involved with at the present?

The TT load in truly IS horrible -...

Re: Musically, what are you involved with at the present?

We were doing the Twisted Tail off of south st. every so often but I don't think we've got anything coming up out that way the rest of the year... We used to hit a joint in Exton pretty regularly, I...

Re: Musically, what are you involved with at the present?

One - Nate Myers & The Aces

plus I'll sub with some other local blues, americana, classic rock acts locally as time permits...

2. What...

Re: Not doing a gig because of the venue

I've only ever balked at playing in one local venue -- simply because the mgmt tried to short us at the end of the night one time. We had a weekly residency and always worked w/the venue during...

Re: Drummers who don't use cymbal stoppers

I've been using these 'grombals' for the last year or so and really dig them... cymbals sound great, no felts/wing nuts to fool with.

I have no...

Re: Contrats To Bermuda!

Well deserved Bermuda!! I checked out the videos each day and they were all killer... I can't imagine the work that goes into nailing all those grooves/sounds so authentically.

Re: Trusting others with your kit?

I've got a couple beater kits and some extra cymbals for just such occasions... and outdoor gigs when the weather is questionable and any other situation where I don't want to risk anything 'decent'...

Re: The "I wish I hadn't opened my big mouth" thread ;)

Don't sweat it -- She obviously knows you can play and wouldn't have set it up if she didn't think you could hang... Have fun and put your 'big ears' on!!! Good Luck, can't wait to hear all...

Re: Here's an idea

I did some teaching about 4-5 years ago -- I did it for about a year, just not my thing... lack of patience/time etc... my bad.

The one thing that struck me was the "Show me how to do this NOW"...

Re: I feel like I'm in a bit of a pickle.

That IS a crap heap -- but for a practice, who cares? Make the best of it and revel in the fact that you don't have to haul anything around for once.

I've made use of worse (not MUCH...

Re: Ringo Starr... Good or bad?

I'm biased -- I LOVE Ringo and Charlie (probably my #1 and 2 in that order)...

depends on what you like: a chops monster OR a drummer that simply makes the music 'feel' good..

One thing you...

I would never ask to 'take a gig back' no matter what the circumstances...

BUT, if I was in your shoes subbing for a band and their regular guy (for whatever reason) was available and wanted to...

Re: 20x14 Bass drum for hardcore playing - my point!

I have a Sonor Safari (16x16 kick) that I own mainly for really small venues/especially low volume situations etc... and it works well in those scenarios.

I've used it sparingly in larger venues...

Re: What's the worst kit you've had to play on?
