Re: Can mods read PM's?

For sure they can read PM's. They know who's dis'ng them privately, pretty sure they can see what you compose also, so don't even think about typing bad stuff in their regard, they can see it b/f...

Re: Yamaha original Maple Custom kit - Is it worth it??

Those are (appear to be) aluminum die cast hoops on the toms, can tell by the radius on the ears, my MC natural came with them too.

You can confirm with a magnet, plus they're really light...

Re: Hearing the upbeat as the downbeat

Usually can happen easily when there's reverb on the guitar, and/or in a highly reverberant room. Sometimes the person doing the count off will imply the count psychically, but execute the 1...

Re: 420 musicians onstage

For our international friends: Farh twenny (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/420_(cannabis_culture)), and 4:20 (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/04/20/420-meaning-the-true-stor_n_543854.html)

420 musicians onstage

After a break at the gig last night I was reminded of the effects 420 has on most musicians, in my case the bass player. Disconnect, loss of memory, disillusionment, a veritable 'clam' bake onstage....

Re: Drumming without shoes - caution

Akin to having callouses on your fingers from playing with no gloves. I used to have callouses on my fingers, don't anymore. I've never worn gloves.

Pedal boards have a lot to do with the...

Re: New Guru "Tour" series kits - details here first :)

Just because a drum has special features, or made of a certain wood species, or even a high end solid shell specification, tells you little about how it actually performs.

Re: Yamaha original Maple Custom kit - Is it worth it??

Good choice going with the natural finish, that finish is more rare than black maple. The natural finish wasn't available on MC kits after 95' ish, 93-95/6

Re: DW rack-tom mount

That's obviously understood.

Re: A rear line day - mini report.

Here in the states my experience has been there's usually a DW backline set either onstage, or available. I believe YAMAHA is still the most requested backline kit, the hardware (CL945) has a lot to...

Re: DW rack-tom mount

Yup, DW slide track mount, the best BD mount you can buy IMO. I'll have em on my NEW CLASSIC's if I ever tire of a rack. TAMA has a slide track too.

These mounts are the most adjustable for tom...

Re: New Guru "Tour" series kits - details here first :)

The lighter the drum (hardware, shell) the bigger the fundamental, that part of the sound is going to bark longer. A big fundamental is the most notable sonic aspect of a drum, the meat of the sound,...

Re: Anyone have this new Gretsch snare yet?

I was half right, thanks for clarifying. The rest of the line 12. 13 .14 have bridge lugs mimicking the legendary LUDWIG design, and don't know why they didn't use the same on the 6.5. My guess is...

Well it is true... like BLACK TAR toothpaste will 'help' fight cavities.

They are cheaper, mission accomplished. 'Affordable' is more subjective.
