Re: Do you think this is the bigest drumset?

Yeah that one guy's kit is set up like a typical drummers, and to me clearly looks smaller than Bozzio's. Bozzio's kit is set up like a organ player. Either kit looks like a boat load of fun to play...

Re: The Grand Master Buddy Rich

True, but can't you argue that with the vast ability Buddy possesed, it would not be a stretch to say he could very well play most all styles? Not trying to take anything away from any drummer, but...

Re: Travis Barker

This may have been brought up already, but this guy is rediculus. If you read up on his drummerworld page his first gig with blink he had to learn all their songs. Did it in 20 hours and played....

Re: Video: Eloy Casagrande

What's this crap about "drum duels"? Why can't someone just give respect where respect is due, I swear ever since this video has poped up on this site, I've heard talk about a duel like 4 times with...

Re: 14 year old drummer who made me weep.

This kid is livin it up! Major props. He has the chops to shame the lot of us. He's 14 he can work on his groove for a looong time. But a little word from the wise, Jack Dejohnette that is, "don't...

Re: How much does a serious drummer practice?

Actually BR hired a guy to rehearse with the band so he could listen to the rest of the band, but you can chat that up in the BR section, anywho i would say i practice for at least an hour the most i...

Re: Tommy Lee

Very true Joe, but I just feel i shouldn't have to do that kind of stuff, i thought when people came to one of my gigs, the music was entertainment enough. I can understand getting into the music...

Re: Tommy Lee

Haha, thanks for the laugh brocke, it just proves my point even more.... Just a showmanship drummer. So what he can hang upside down and play drums, i bte both of us could too. But i can understand...

Re: Tommy Lee

Well, yeah, I most definatly respect that Billy, but I mean, that doesn't make him a good drummer. I mean i got kids at my school that were inspired to pick up a pair of sticks due to the fact of...

Re: Tommy Lee

Mkay, things all cleared up now, the full reason I dislike Mr. Lee's playing is his obviously simple play tactic. The simple 2 4 snare, and 1 n' 3 bass doesn't appeal to me. Sure he may try and get a...

Re: Brian "brain" Mantia

You took the words out of my mouth haha.. That's exactly how I feel about brain too. His video on drummerworld is really sweet though. Especially the guy running around the set haha.

Re: Tommy Lee

Alright, there is your opinion, and may i quote myself.."and TO ME....plays the drums for all the wrong resons." Look if you wanna question my drum education, that's wack, I've been drumming for 7...

Re: The Grand Master Buddy Rich

I heard that BR never practiced with his band even, in fact he would hire a drummer to practice with the band while he walked around and listened to the band, then he performed the show. But I may be...

Re: Any Left handers play a right handed set?

I'm another lefty that plays righty...it doesn't really matter to me, cause when you start drums..no matter what hand you lead with, your equally uncowordinated.

Re: Dave Weckl

I am a huge Weckl fan. I just feel his technicality/perfectivness at almost anything drum oriented, scares drummers. I mean if you listen to someone like Tommy Lee and think his drumming is so...

My thoughts on Portnoy are...Solid drummer. Very intelligent on his profession, but, I personally beleive, he just puts 4/4 stuff in different time...

Haha, i didn't hear that one. But one of my friends saw him in a clinic and just said how he just tried to show off his speed the whole time, and he didn't really learn anything

Re: WFD

See, that's why i hate it. It just brings that stereotypical view to drummers that all they are, are speed freaks, that don't deserve the respect of being actual musicians. That's what burns me. And...

WFD - WORLD'S FASTEST DRUMMER

World's Fastest Drummer. What do you think? Personally I think it just brings out the stereotypical drummer. It has little to do with music. But, let me here your thoughts!

Re: Dave Weckl

finhiggins
On the other hand, I saw him play in London with his band and I've never been so bored at a live gig in my life. Easily the worst "drum" gig I've ever seen. It's sort of like watching a...

I dont' listen to them as a fan. I particularly don't like that style. But this drummer is the man at it. He's prolly my fav. in that category of music. He most definatly could match up to Joey. He...
