or get a mapex rock setup of ebay 24x18 bass, 14x10 rack tom, 16x16 and 18x16 floor toms, and a 14x8" snare. I got mine for $550

go for a used mapex pro m.

They are basically the same thing as the orions, except for the exoctic outer ply, the Bass drum spurs, the finishes, and the mounts on the floor tom.

with mapex, anything lower than the m birch isn't worth spending money on, I suggest going used and getting an intermediate kit.
