I put a screw driver through the snare side head of my snare right after putting it on. I was using a screw driver to clean out some of the dirt. Damn that is stupid. 14 bucks down the drain.

I give a nod to Dave Wreckl for his great cymbal angle and placement in "Back to the Basics."

The cymbal is higher and is compensated by a little more angle which allows good sticking and...

I think I saw this somewhere... dont remember where though... that you can quicken the head's settling onto the rim by circling around the edge, where the glue is, with a hair drier.

I like to make sure that my elbows are either at my sides or mainly in front of me. The closer the elbows are to your body the less effort.
