Re: Snare rim-click help

As others have stated, where you hit the stick on the rim really makes all the difference. Try your stick in different spots up and down the shaft. One spot should really stand out as being the...

Re: Chris Squire, Yes Bassist found dead

Very sad. I just jammed out "Roundabout" in his honor. The bass work in that, while not really all that hard, is awesome. The tone, the drive, etc...

Re: Shallow toms - 20x16" Bass 8 10 12 14FT - Advice

Dude, I just remembered you! :)

Whatever you do, please go to Fred Pierce's shop first. You may be able to find a kit that meets your needs for super cheap. I'm not sure how he does it, but he...

Re: Intersting article on Beats Headphones

I use these and really dig them.

They sound great, but they are also the most comfortable...

Re: 12" Tom

I have this issue often with a 12" tom. If I have it tuned great holding it by the rim, it will often sound like crap when mounted. Then I have to retune it to get a good tone mounted up - could be...

Re: The drummers who just go for it

Some people may argue that not knowing the "rules" around music is what made him and several others special.

I would be one that argues that point (if I had the energy to argue on a message board....

Selling my Paiste 24" 2002 ride cymbal. No dings, cracks, scratches, etc... Just some stick marks. Otherwise in MINT condition. It's a bit much for me.

Re: I can't believe I did this...

Ha ha. Love it! It's weird to me that we as drummers can get a tiny bit of satisfaction from that, but it's true! lol

Re: New Pearl Wood Fiberglass

Sounds like the fiberglass is just "painted" on the inside, not like an acrylic shell or anything.

"new Wood/Fiberglass drumsí 7-ply Kapur-blended shell features an inner layer of Fiberglass that...

Re: New Pearl Wood Fiberglass

The only thing I know is that they come with 14" deep bass drums, which is fantastic IMO. Also just saw the antique gold color. NICE.

Re: Today, I came out . . .

Yeah, I dig the Sensitone snares as well! I've had the brass and aluminum versions. Both were fantastic!

Tama makes this aluminum snare. I haven't owned one, but hit them a few times in the...

Re: Ever weighed your gear?

A while back, I got a new scale, so I went a little overboard weighing everything. Haven't done it again since. LOL!

I still have these stands and the 2002 cymbals, but everything else has...

Re: Anybody seen these yet?

I want A set. I think they're beautiful and reasonably priced. Aren't wood hoops really expensive for some reason? Like it may cost me $500 or more to outfit current drums with wood hoops.
