Re: Mapex Black Widow Trouble

One thing I noticed, is that if you loosen a side all the way it becomes disengaged, so you can be tightening it thinking its working and its not moving, if this is the case turn the drum upside...

Re: What was the name of your first bands?

My first band was called 'Hands Up ETC.' bit random but it worked for what we played! after bass player issues we renamed ourselves to 'The Promise'

Re: 12" Tom - Tuning Issues

To be honest I normally find 12" toms easier to tune, I'm 99% sure that the other drums are perfect because they give a nice full tone with no wild overtones, unlike the 12"

Re: 12" Tom - Tuning Issues

I have seen other people use that test on snares to check the beds etc, thought I'd try it on the tom and I'm quite glad I did!
Luckily I have a 10" tom I can use and that lil guy sounds fantastic!...

12" Tom - Tuning Issues

Hey DW,
I'll get straight to the point, my 12" Tom doesn't seem to want to tune properly, it's a Mapex Saturn tom. I just replaced the stock heads with an Evans EC2 Clear, but it seems that the...

Re: Do bandmates throw coins on your cymbals?

Re: Can't Get It Together...

This seems like a good approach. Everything about my new kit is different, sure the sizes are the same but the depths and sound is completely different, in a good way of course :)

And now I think...

Haha, yeah yeah! My new years resolution was to practice harder and push myself, and now I'm stuck in a hole!
I'm going to take a few days off and see how it is when i go back :)

Re: Can't Get It Together...

Quiting seems a bit drastic haha

Everything just seems more difficult and grooves that I can normally do with ease, don't seem to want to come out of my hands.
