More Creative on a Larger Kit

Ok, we've done the "More Creative on a Smaller Kit" (http://www.drummerworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118901) thing to death.

Let's discuss the opposite side of spectrum.

I play a 6-piece...

Re: I Want to Gig!

Okay, I have edited, updated, and revised my ad.

It's less wordy, less restrictive (to a point), and I mention only what needs to be mentioned (I think?).

If you're not bored to tears with this...

Re: I Want to Gig!

Still too wordy - Got it!! Some time I don't know when to shut up. Like now.

Musicians 30+ - Great idea, why didn't I think of that?

Re: NFL Asks Musicians for Money to Play Super Bowl Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/ne

The NFL - one of the world's biggest money-making conglomerates. Freakin' bastards.

I'm actually getting a bit tired of pro football. The players make too much money; the owners are stingy...

Re: I Want to Gig!

In my CL ad, a few of you mentioned about the age thing.

I thought "middle-aged crisis" band was kind of funny and let the reader know what age group was preferred (at least by me).

How do I...

Re: I Want to Gig!

Well, at least I know I'm not alone in this sea of musical weirdness and that we all have been in or are in the same boat.

I'm going to try to rework the ad later on today - so keep the...

Re: I Want to Gig!

You may be correct in your assessment of the ad. This is why I'm asking for this support. To be honest, I was in teacher mode when I wrote the ad late yesterday afternoon (that's my profession -...

Re: I Want to Gig!

I was indeed trying to use a little humor to narrow down the age criteria without being so blatant about it. Also. I will remove the "adequate" statement. I guess I'm too humble.

Any...

I Want to Gig!

I'm really trying hard to get together with other musicians around my area - and it's really tough. There doesn't seem to be many (hardly any, actually) musicians looking for drummers. I'm just not...

Re: Buddy Rich - Left-handed Clutch?

"Fine tuned control." Thanks, Tony. The way you put that makes perfect sense. I think I will play around with this. I love when hi-hats sound like that!

Re: Buddy Rich - Left-handed Clutch?

This second clip you posted is the reason for this thread.

Why not just open and close the hats with your foot while playing with your hand? This only involves two limbs instead of three (2...

Re: Buddy Rich - Left-handed Clutch?

Yes, I have seen him play the bottom hat with his stick that way, but in a lot of cases it looks as if he's opening and closing the hats with his left hand.

To me, it sounds just like what I do...

Buddy Rich - Left-handed Clutch?

Why does Buddy Rich clutch his hi-hats with his left hand during certain points of a song? Is this different than simply using the hi-hat pedal?

Here's a brief clip of the technique: ...

Re: Help me to identify the age of this Ludwig LM400!

For a 30 year old Supra, that thing is in immaculate condition!

I would guess that it has probably spent most of its life in a dry climate to still be that nice looking.

Any chance on letting...

Re: 30 songs in 6 days.

Wow, that certainly is a boat load. I wish I could help, sorry.
