Yes, there does seem to be a difference between live and album.
Exercise and all transcripts might be better titled "in the style of..."
Must be nice to be popular enough that someone even cares.

yes,
the groove is on the snare and alternate bass/hihat and sounds like a train. I know I've heard it on a Dave Matthews song, but I can't remember which one.
