I got a Gretsch Catalina Maple kit in cherry red finish, and I love it! I immediately replaced the tom heads to pinstripes, and put an Aquarian Super Kick II on the bass (AMAZING!) I left stock heads...

Get a Rock-N-Soc Nitro throne.
yeah, it is a lot of money, but it is well worth it.
I am able to sit at my kit and play for hours.
and they are amazingly comfortable.
