Just picked one of these up cheap (floor model mint) swapped out the coated Ambassador for an Evans reverse dot. Great tone tuned medium tight with just the right amount of ring.

Well I tried removing the felt pad on the batter (coated PS3) A little too much boom, speaking only for my taste. I then tried the clear EMAD single ply no muffling ring just the felt strip "yuck" ...

I replaced the reso with a single ply smooth white ambassador and added a felt strip. The batter still has the coated ps3 with felt strip as well. No other muffling. Very happy, nice low...
