Re: Most Difficult Song

I always find it very difficult to play anything by The Who according to the recorded drum part. You just have to completely let yourself go and forget about the idea of just keeping a solid beat....

Re: Question about Snare Beds, are they necessary?

Re: Question about Snare Beds, are they necessary?

Right, but drums like Rogers Dynasonic had active snare systems that eliminated the need for snare beds. So I either need to find a 10" version of one of those or create my own.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned why most jazzers prefer trad grip? While playing ghost notes Trad grip allows you to elevate your arm up very high so only the very top of the stick makes contact with the...

Re: tuning a 14 x 14 floor tom

I really found the opposite of what I used to think was a vintage tuning style worked. I cranked up my batter head a couple turns above its lowest point, and tuned the reso. head at its lowest tuning...

Re: This drumset is very weird

I plan on converting a Meinl 18X22 Aluminum Surdo into a bass drum, I think it's going to sound killer.

Re: Joe Morello

I was basically in disbelief while watching his technique videos Bernard recently posted. I yelled, "Honestly! I mean c'mon!" he really makes every other drummer look like a rookie. He'll play...

Re: Most portable drumset

You could try to get a good cocktail drumkit. You play them standing up and all the peices attach to a standing bass drum. There's also the "gig-box." I forget what it's called and can't find the...
