Two 5x14 Supraphonics sit before you...

One is a late 60's serialized Keystone badge Supraphonic. It's missing the muffler and knob/baseball bat, the chrome is pitted and flaking. It's a part of history and you know it will sound as sweet...

Re: pdp ace snare vs. pork pie big black

The "used" section of the website (the one where I searched for and found this BOB) says "Was $299, now $129"... it also has a picture of the drum. For some reason, the actual page for purchasing the...

Re: pdp ace snare vs. pork pie big black

I like my 6.5x14 Ace, but I knew before I bought it that I would. I'm able to get an "acceptable" tuning from it with the stock heads (they're awful) and hoops, but I know that once I get the chance...

Re: Stave Drum Construction Questions

Haha, I live in Upper Michigan. In da North, ya know? If you're close I could hook you up with a couple boards if you're looking for building material in exchange for letting me pick your brain.

Re: Stave Drum Construction Questions

So I've thought about what you said about using single staves to cut down on glue and avoid diminishing the voice of the species, and I'm concerned about the thickness of the boards I should be...

Re: Stave Drum Construction Questions

Thank you! I was hoping you would reply, KIS... your Guru drums are masterpieces and I would order a set in a heartbeat if I had the scratch. I've already decided the next set I buy will be custom...

Re: Help identifying cheap Ludwig Snare

I bought my acrolite (black galaxy) for about $60 and it's wonderful. Save your money for a better Ludwig, that would be my advice.

Guitar Central online has two used black galaxy acrolites for...

Re: NEW (to me) Circa '98 DW's

I was just about to compliment the color! I love it... reminds me of the kit John Fred Young of Black Stone Cherry used for a long time. That green sparkle just pops!

Re: Hey - Ludwig Snare Guys

I do want to mention that I didn't encounter anyone trying to hype the drum into something it's not so that it would sell better. It was just a few reviews online, one most notably saying something...

Re: Hey - Ludwig Snare Guys

Ten bow tie lugs, chrome on steel, makes me think it's a LM300. I've heard nothing but great things being said about the chrome on steel snares that ludwig is making. A few reviews I read said it...

Re: On a SUPER low budget, need better drums.

Here is a "Rodgers Complete Drum Set" for $90 http://pawnmart.com/?itemid=115964182074

Re: suggestions on a low budget kit?

Go used.

The guitar central website has a ton of great used drum gear.

Shell packs, snares, pedals and hardware. You could easily build a very nice frankenstein kit with your budget.

Ebay is...

Re: Which snare to buy?

Thought I'd give ya'll an update on my hunt for a snare.

I expanded my budget to $160 and started looking for a 60's or 70's Supraphonic in just about any condition. Right now, it doesn't seem...

Re: How much do you think it's worth? (60s Ludwig 14x5.5 SS)

I've been watching and bidding on Supraphonics on ebay for the last week or two, trying to snag one for around $125-150... it's not happening.

An auction I was bidding on last night for a 60's...

Wow those cymbals sound fantastic. Seems like a really great person, it's a shame that he's passed and I'm just now hearing about him.

Thank you for the links.

My guess would be that...
