Re: Some advice needed re: accuracy of songs

Re: Giving bandmates rides to gigs!

That said, wherever my wife hasnt been able to...

Re: Shoes and Gloves

Shoes - my basic requirement is that I always play in smart shoes. This is a uniform thing for me - I feel more professional. At an absolute minimum I dont wear shoes with laces, a couple of times...

Re: Learning to play well on a 4 piece kit ....

I must be the only one here who plays a big kit not to be flashy but to literally have different tonal capabilities.

I have auditioned to be in a band which does covers from loads of different...

Re: Poll: do you double bass?

I use a double pedal but sparingly at gigs. I use it for some fills and to accent. For example in Get Lucky - in the middle bit where there is clapping there is an accent on the kick that is probably...

Re: Musically, what are you involved with at the present?

1. How many bands are you in?

I play in what I will term 1 1/2 bands - The Rebels is a UK based covers band. I am a permanent member of this group.

The other group I play in is called The...

Re: Bad Auditions

Sad to say but maybe they gave the same story to the other drummer too and aren't really sure how to make a decision.

Even if they don't choose you it isn't bad. You played your heart out and that...

Phenomenally solid drummer and a very very good backing vocalist.

Potentially could have showed more chops but did he need to? He served the song and is a stellar example of how drums should be...

Advice on how to advertise as a session drummer

Hi guys,

I'm looking to get into the world of session drumming (more for local gigs then for recording at this stage...).

I'm thinking that it may be best to have a website to advertise myself...

Re: Taking back your gigs

Maybe this is an idea ( a crazy one but...)

Let him have the gig but he pays you his cut, and you pay him when you do the replacement gig next month?

Re: Thoughs on Mapex?

Its interesting that you say that because in the Midlands (England) I dont know an awful lot of people who play Mapex and I do check out the local scene a fair bit. Most people use Pearl, Premier and...

Re: Thoughs on Mapex?

I have played on and owned various Yamaha, Pearl, Tama, Premier and Mapex kits.

All offer different things but for me I prefer Mapex. It's a matter of taste, but Mapex's birch shells to me sound...
