I agree with the others it gets easier after a while - also you could work on a system for yourself to remember. Maybe a simple notesystem.

If you dont have a lot of time to learn a lot of songs...

One of my snare has diecast hoops - I didnt choose it because of this, it just sounded good :-)

One mic - could be shure sm57 on top of the snare pointing towards the middle of the head. You could also point it more towards the edge of the head, that will give you more overtones.
Try both or...

You dont have to put a reverb on every single drum.

Set a reverb up on an aux-channel

Use a send from every drumchannel to send to the reverb. This way you only need one reverb for all your...

By recommendation by someone in here I'm using Finale Notepad wich is $10. The only problem is that it doesn't do grace notes - They also have bigger versions but check it out here

Thank you very much Fuo - I've tried it out and it works with the lyrics tool :-)
I've bought the Notepad version wich can do just what I need. Thank you again for pointing me in the right direction...

Hey all!

Do some of you know of notationsoftware for the Mac? I need to work out some paradiddle combinations so I'm looking for a program that can easily write sticking (LR LL etc) on each note....

I think its one of those you-know-it-when-you-hear-it-things - I hear it with Jeff Porcaro, Brian Blade. Its their ability to surprise you and do the right thing at the right time and make the groove...
