sometimes we forget the importance of doing a thorough job tuning the resonant head.
turning it 1 or 1/2 turn each lug for example will not suffice, you have to fine tune for a perfect snare sound....

In all the searching that I've done on the web about this snare you are the first person to diss this drum. Everyone has commented that its the exact opposite of boxy and has a wide tuning range

PeteN I concur that its a great snare. Its been discontinued for 7 years so I guess it may take some time before its collectible if ever.

I agree that practicing your left hand ie: rudiments on and off the kit has a lot of value, it will strengthen and increase its aim for sure.

Just to add to this though, if you focus doing stuff...
