Re: Led's Latest Page

Ok, they will never get together and play again, like they did in 2007. Maybe Jimmy thought he had something to prove, after the wacked years of the 80's and that awful "No Quarter" album.

I know...

Re: Songs With Bored Drummers

I have always heard Bonzo did not like to play "The Ocean" or "Black Dog"

Charlie Watts (a legend) sounds bored on several Stones songs, not mentioning names. Other times he sounds brilliant,...

Re: Did you ever notice.....

This is because they are deperately wanting my advice on cymbals, since I know it all. Joking!

I actually have noticed more people on the gear forum and more on the cymbal forum amongst that.

Re: Seeking Advice On Song To Learn

You are 100% correct, cannot believe I messed that up!

I would add another GnR song "Pretty Tied Up"

Take care!

If given the opportunity would you....

Most of us, on this forum, are rock/jazz/heavy drummers. However, if given the opportunity (forget money, you would still get the cash whether you played or not), are there 5 Country Artists (alive...

Re: Stupid Newbie Tricks

We all made mistakes as we were learning
My biggest mistake was buying a kit from a local shop, could have got it for 1/2 anyplace
2nd big mistake was buying a Zil ZBT+ and then a Zil Edge Series...

Re: Are endorsement deals worth it?

Cannot stand Facebook so looked them up on the WWW.
Listened to 1 song and the guy's playing seemed good: He was playing for the music, showed some tech skills, and a good groove.
There a a lot...

Re: Seeking Advice On Song To Learn

Gotta go with Priest and Breaking the Law solid suggestion!

I CANNOT STAND KISS, especially after their pubescent antics at the Hall of Fame

Highway to Hell is Good, so are these AC/Songs: 74...

Re: Led Zep Vs Spirit issue

The Blues are the cornerstone of Rock n Roll

Robert Johnson is considered the Father of the blues (Keith Richards/Clapton and Page are quoted saying this, as well as Muddy Waters)

I doubt...

Re: Musicians who don't listen to music.

I do not play the Xbox, watch TV or read the "Press", I listen to Music (the most powerful medium ever created!)

Re: Are 13" toms obsolete?

My bad, I really thought he used a 24. At least I did not say he used a 26 or 28!

Re: Are 13" toms obsolete?

I play 13/16/18/18 w/ 22 kick. Love my 13, I use my 12 as a holder for beer and cigs when I practice. Ringo 24/13/16, classic.

I would prefer to have a 24 kick, 13 mounted tom, a 14 and a 16 on...

Re: My bizarre, ego-destroying experience

I apologize, but this whole thread reminds me of one of my favorite songs: Dire Straits "Sultans of Swing"

And a crowd of young boys they're fooling around in the corner
Drunk and dressed in...

Re: Other musicians' view of drums.

Maybe the other guys in the band do not understand us. The amazing skills which go into making a solid drummer, but who cares? We know how important we are, how much practice it takes, how much...

Re: Tips on drum rooms?

I am no studio engineer, so no real suggestions, except the 70's cheap wood paneling is an absolute classic. Congrats on the new house!!

Re: It is your band, who do you pick for lead singer?

Wow, I have been gone for a few days and have not checked my thread. Thank you to all who posted, I am sure it is going to be interesting. There is no right answer, only your taste in singers.

Re: Advice on what songs to play/learn

Whoa, not to be rude, but there is a huge difference between Phil Rudd on single kick and what Nicko does. Nicko has one of the fastest right feet ever (Bonham and Jo Jo in there too).

Re: You get what you pay for

Whether it be drums or cymbals you go for the sound, not the price or the name brand.

If you are RICH, then go ahead and buy the name.

A $1000 snare, no way would I pay that much, sure it is...

Re: Which drum kit to buy?

Drums are important (of course), but with the right heads and tuning you can make a medium level kit which will last for years: Pearl Exports and the same range from Tama/Yamaha/Gretsch/ Ludwig...

I liked George Michaels version, but I think Seether brought something different/new and powerful to the song.

It is a beautiful song either way.

I also like Axle's version of Sympathy for the...
