Re: Staying in time with a recorded song

It's you. Sorry. I've run into the same exact thing. Thought I was progressing rather quickly these last few months. That was until I recorded myself.

Now I'm starting to play to drumless...

Re: The "Ah Ha!" moment.

Well, I did get the stand yesterday. (Pearl T1030) But I only ended up with 30 minutes to set it up, & play. grrrrr...

But for the few minutes I did try it out, I think it's going to make a huge...

Re: BO!!! SERIOUSLY????

Isn't there a rule in the guidelines for this site, that requires kits such as this to be offered to NEWER members at a 70% discount? (+free shipping?)

Do you have a pic of your setup?

Not if you're dyslexic...

Re: Would drumming to song with headphones on be equal to singing in the car?

Probably not going to record for a while. Still licking my wounds from a Vocal/Piano recording I attempted a couple of months ago.

Re: Would drumming to song with headphones on be equal to singing in the car?

Ok, I did a little experiment this weekend...

(1) Friday:
Put in a set of foam earplugs, and cranked the home stereo. (the 5 speakers & Sub are mounted around the kit) Ipod @ 75%...Stereo @ 100%....

Re: Would drumming to song with headphones on be equal to singing in the car?

I'd say you were correct. But I'm not doing that though.

I was previously playing while wearing earplugs, and my stereo at MAX volume.

Then for the last 3-4weeks, I switched to gun range...

Re: Would drumming to song with headphones on be equal to singing in the car?

But I know I'd probably be happier, the wife will be far less happy spending the $200+ right now. (*puts...

Would drumming to song with headphones on be equal to singing in the car?

You know how awesome your voice sounds when you have the music cranked in the car, and you are really screaming along? Then, you try the same thing in your living room, at a much lower volume(or try...

Re: Shuffling knuckles

Re: Several gifts from Brother-In-Law. (one a deflated ego)

It was such a surprise to hear how good he really is. But to play after he did, kind of felt like having to follow a Steve Gadd solo, and I could only play with one stick.

I could listen to him...

Re: Several gifts from Brother-In-Law. (one a deflated ego)

Oh, I agree. There are people that just have that natural ability for things.

My nephew is another great music example. He is now 13. When he was 10, he heard a song on TV, and without any prior...

Re: Several gifts from Brother-In-Law. (one a deflated ego)

Just some background on him:

- A great teacher, and lessons for a long period of time.

Self taught.

He brought me a few things from his garage:
* Roc-N-Soc Throne (barely used)

Re: eBay is consignment

eBay is fine for stuff you can ship. You can reach a large audience of buyers, and fetch a few $'s more than most other methods of selling.

Craigslist is great for items that are not as easy to...

Re: my fiancee is letting me put drums in living room ; )
