Re: Mounting a Personal Mixer behind the Kit

OK, as promised here are a couple of pics. SPD-SX is on a stand and i used a small percussion tray to mount the mixer next to it. Not only does it work well but I think it looks pretty sweet!

Re: Playing w/ a Click Live... Concerns:

I love playing to a click in the studio but for live performances I only use one when a loop, sample or sequence is needed. Otherwise we tend to stay in time pretty well with each other.

It is...

Re: Anyone suggest good drum bags?

Another vote for Protection Racket from my end. Every time I get a new drum or piece of equipment I just go ahead and buy the matching P.R. case.

I will say that after years of lugging my kick...

Re: What is the best rack mixer to get to support my drum triggers?

I run a Roland SPD-SX with two external triggers directly into an RCF Livepad 6X mixer. Its a 6 channel mixer and has built in effects. I think I paid 125 bucks for it and I love it.

I basically...

Re: Monitoring an SPD-SX

My band actually went all out and got a wireless rig for us all to use. Unfortunately that got stolen a few years back. The plus side is I still have my custom ear buds. They are the sensaphonic 2max...

Re: Monitoring an SPD-SX

I use the SPD-SX with two BT-1's as well. Just like TonyW said, a direct box is a must. I keep the Master volume about 70% during sound check so I still have some wiggle room on the fly.

You...

Re: Mounting a Personal Mixer behind the Kit

OK after about two months of compiling this rig I finally have it complete! New Sampler to replace my old SPD-S as well as external pads and a personal mixer for in ear monitors. I will take a few...

Re: Mounting a Personal Mixer behind the Kit

I like that stand! Unfortunately it does seem like it would be too big for a 6 channel mixer. The thing is only 8inches wide so this one may be overkill.

However, it is highly possible I am being...

Mounting a Personal Mixer behind the Kit

Hi Guys!

I have looked high and low for a solution to this with no luck. Long story short I recently upgraded my Roland SPD-S to an SPD-SX with external pads etc. To incorporate click it is time...

Re: Any big name drummers do something to rub you the wrong way?

I certainly won't say that Scott Phillips from Creed or Alter Bridge is a bad drummer but I can not stand that fact that in every song he hits that "and of 4" on the open hi hat with the left hand....

Re: how much do you charge for gigs

Here in the US we are pulling between $1000 and $1200 per night. We also do the covers gig and definalty started two years ago at about $350 a gig. As the demand for you rises, so does your price....

Re: The gigging scene in your area

We only use an agent about 30-40% of the time. Some of these high end clubs will not even talk to a band directly. However, getting into some of these agency booked clubs opens to door to a bunch of...

Re: The gigging scene in your area

Oh, sorry for not saying. We are actually a cover band called KleptoRadio. The good thing about Balitmore DC area is that an hour in any direction gets to a pretty popular area. Weplay a lot in...

Re: The gigging scene in your area

It's funny because we have finally gotten to the point of playing the big named clubs (just to name a few, Clarendon Grill, Cancun Cantina, we just played Seacrets in Ocean City) and those are the...

Re: The gigging scene in your area

My band is from Maryland, directly in between DC and Baltimore. The live music scene here is amazing. We could literally play a brand new venue every weekend and not be able to fit them all into a...

Re: Looking for input on In Ear Monitors

Thanks to both of you. I actually found a system that allows ambient sound to be picked up and mixed into your in ear mix at the level you want it.

This requires an extra belt pack and is a...

Re: Looking for input on In Ear Monitors

Thanks a lot for the input. This helps a lot. So the biggest draw back is the isolation from band members possibly trying to say something to you in between songs.

I assume this also can be a...

Re: Kick Drum Trigger LIVE
