Aye thats true, Im actually on a music tech course and have just gone through recording and touched quite a bit on acoustics too, I really should of noticed it haha, 2 days spent to tune a snare drum...

yes I can, just the snare or my entire kit, the kit isn't effecting it at all.

I've always tuned higher. On this drum I've had it higher, lower, the same, a lot higher, a lot, and an extreme amount higher, all to no avail :/

They didn't look bent or damaged in anyway, however that was under tension which I am guessing can be deceiving, my main concern is that they are new which would mean that they have come damaged,...
