Re: Repairing scratches... with nail polish?

JMO but I wouldn't try to match the shade. I've used clear nail polish on my lacquered Tama Starclassics to seal up a little scuff. A mismatched shade would bother me more than a little clear to...

Re: Show me your Popcorn snare mounts!

It's a movie quote. I showed my daughter the gas fight scene just a few nights ago.

Re: Ludwig Club dates soon

You've probably thought this through, but where are you going to install the DW rail? It's going to add a few inches off to the side, and even more dead-centre.

Re: Ludwig 3x13 maple piccolo (aka the "other" Ludwig student snare)

I just got rid of one. It's an ok snare if you find one cheap, but the bottoming out can be an issue on batter and reso depending on what heads you use. The strainer and butt are functional. The...

Re: Cool Drumming (The Wrong Kind!)

Didn't think about that. My only gripe about my Dw Ultralight cymbal stands is they blow in windy situations:/

Re: Cool Drumming (The Wrong Kind!)

There is nothing to worry about cymbal-wise as has been noted. You won't have to take a fan to cool you down, so that's a good thing.

Re: Kick snare and hi hat.

Love FF and Nate Smith. Check out Vulfpeck if you have a chance. They share some members amongst other things.

Re: Gretsch Catalina 16 floor tom

When the Cats first came out I picked a 6-piece up. This was more than 10 years ago. I needed a cheap gigging kit and they somewhat fit the bill. The 14" and 16" floor tom feet were one of the many...

Re: Probably getting my kick drum cut down - what size?

20x14 is a great size. Are you handy? Do you have a router and a table saw? If so, it's not too hard to do. I'm not discrediting any builders, but with decent tools, math, and a plan it's...

Re: Removing sticky residue from drum wrap

Sure will. Zippo lighter fluid works well as does nail polish remover.

Re: Advice on value of monster vintage Pearl kit

I saw it on reverb earlier today. Running up and down those toms would be a blast.

Re: Vistalite concert tom set - a good deal?

This is exactly what I would expect from someone who has owned a concert tom kit for 46 years.

His photo skills lead me to believe he's...

Each time I have purchased from GC's used stock I have called the store where the item was located. I ask any questions I may have and then ask nicely for them to send me pics. I've done this several...

Re: The Snare Wires General Info Thread

Same story here 2 weeks ago. I bought a Gibraltar set to throw on an old Pearl steel shell I'm giving away. I tried them on my Yamaha Maple Custom 14x6 for kicks (or bass drums), and I honestly don't...

Re: 10" Mike Mangini signature snare?

That's the Golden Ratio snare, right? Occasionally one pops up on reverb or ebay. Set a notification for it and you'll know when one becomes available.

Re: I need your advice please

The one gripe I have about my Starclassic Maple 14x12 is the legs are short and I'm 6'2", all torso. If the brackets were mounted 2" lower it would be perfect. I won't be at the other house were that...

Re: Premier Royal Ace Info Needed.

I don't know where to buy a replacement set, but I do recall seeing something on a vintage drum forum where a guy bought a long-enough snare wire and soldered up a working set.
