What's frustrating is that I just recorded what I was screwing up on. I used the click (of course) and played thru the fills, returns, and grooves that were giving me problems. And, I was nailing it....

Ya know what? Most of the best drummers in the business use click tracks when recording because no one has perfect time... imho. Keep up the good practice you're putting in. You WILL improve!

Hey Nick, it's easy! You can do it without a problem at 100, right? Soooooo, just crank up your metronome by ONE beat a day for a few weeks... my math equates this to 121 bpm after three weeks....

Man, I've been 'that guy' so many times. The band I'm in now has arrainged endings and it is usually left to the singer of the particular song to lower his ax for the finale note.

Listen to early Ray Charles... "I got a woman" and "Leave my woman alone". This is some of the best 'gospel' rock ever produced and the boom chuck is unique and swings.
