Re: Which college will be the best choice for drummer doing rock muisc in LA?

No worries, nobody was implying you were a retard. Sometimes the Original Posters (OP), in this case you, don't give enough important information about themselves.

Language barriers come up all...

Re: Which college will be the best choice for drummer doing rock muisc in LA?

I was basing my answer to the post on the fact that English is his native language. If he's ESL (English as a Second Language), then that would be different.

And, if that is indeed the case, I...

Re: Which college will be the best choice for drummer doing rock muisc in LA?

If he writes like that on a college entrance exam or the PSAT, he can forget about college.

Re: Negative Progress / Quitting

You need an attitude adjustment - plain and simple.

And since that's the case, take a break. Get away from your drums for a while. What's it going to hurt, huh?

Just like personal...

Re: Getting some bad vibrations.

I have the same kit as you. Try tuning higher than you think it should be (you will hear the heads sing!) On the 12", I have both heads tuned to the same pitch and on the 16" I have the reso head...

Re: My First Ludwig Acrolite

Take your drum and try tuning it with the other Acro next to it and get all the tension rods to the same pitch on the top and bottom. That should get you where you want it to be fairly easily!!

Re: My First Ludwig Acrolite

I have a Galaxy Black Acrolite, too. To me it sounds fantastic. I enjoy plying it very much. Experiment with the tuning. I have a G1 batter head / hazy 300 reso with Puresound wires. A G2 or a HD...

Re: Played my first Gig last night.

Thanks for the advice Larry. I think I'll keep that card up my sleeve for the time being. They did make small - and I emphasize, small - mention of my kit the other night, so we'll see where that...

Re: Played my first Gig last night.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I really had fun last night - except my hands are a bit sore. I went so far as to tape them up. It helped a little bit.

I would really like to convince them to...

Played my first Gig last night.

Well, it was more like half a gig. I played my djembe (not drums - unfortunately) in the first two sets with an acoustic duo. The guitar player is absolutely amazing and the singer is fantastic. ...

Crush Chameleon Bop Birch - Does anyone have experience with this kit?

I was browsing around the interweb recently and came across the Crush Chameleon Bop. The sizes seem pretty good for small acoustic (& electric) types of gigs/venues.

I tried to search (here and...
