Re: pls can anyone help me out

Hi and welcome to the forum!

As forums usually have, there's a Search function on Drummerworld, too.

Just to give you an example - I just did a search for "how to practice" and (as expected,...

Re: Struggling with RSI after pad work

Jonathan, I'd also use some matched grip, just for variation and to break up the monotony of positions/motions when playing trad exclusively. (I use and love both grips.) And maybe break up your...

Re: Stain inside shells?

** Higher production cost.

** How can the manufacturers know whether the individual buyer likes the shell insides to be stained? And if (s)he does - what stain does (s)he prefer? (What is...

Re: I know I'm in a minority, but ...

Usually I tend to watch the Eurovision contest. Not that I'm a big fan of that thing but most of the time a handful of songs are really decent or have at least some very nice melodies and/or rhythmic...

Re: The thread to derail the thread derail thread

Why deleting it? Haha.
Took me 4 minutes to find this thread - but that's because I'm practicing on the el. bass for a gig next week (pop jazz, bossa stuff, e.g. Jamiroquai - "Corner Of This Earth",...

@ MrPockets
No derail in my book - Zardoz is cool, as is Sir Connery.

Re: Is there such a thing as a 'drum jam'? Something where just drummers get together and groove?

To the OP:
If we had a 'what user has the most threads with super long thread titles?' category then you'd be the undisputed champion ;-)
Basically no prob, it's just striking, haha. Go, man! ;-)

Re: Tips on looking more lively and energetic while playing?

+1 on the mirror. Would help you so you'd have a good idea how you come across to the audience. Or video-tape yourself and watch back.

Watch some other drummers, there might be things you'd like...

One minor thing: Please make the music start no later than 5-10 seconds into the video... This really bothers me, having to wait 20, 30!! seconds until something happens. Most people do have enough...

Re: Parents won't let me buy a drum set

Re: Guitar player new into drums - What to focus on?

Welcome to the forum!

There is no either-or, you need to do both.
There's absolutely no way around rudiments. But you also need coordination as soon as you start playing/practicing grooves. If...
