Re: Martin Valihora

I love this guy! I wish I could see them live! I'm not really into jazz or jazz fusion but Hiromi's Sonicbloom is a for sure exception. And Valihora manages to keep such a good and groovy sound even...

Re: Why do you use you're hi hat?

Strangely enough sometimes when I'm keeping time with my left foot, it makes grooves easier to play. Especially when it's a loud situation it helps me from getting caught up in all the other music...

Re: Pure Insanity

I personally, have secretly been watching this thread, as I'm very interested in this transcription. He's such a great drummer, and even though I don't really care to take a look at the solo, I like...

Re: My 6 yr. old son's first gig

Your son is really good! He's even using his hi-hat foot! Keep him in those lessons, as long as he is having fun ofcourse :) That teacher is obviously doing a good job with your son.

Re: Single Kick Pedal Questions

For the last couple of months I felt the same way. It was hard to get any sort of fast foot rolls going. Turns out my pedal tensions were way to tight. I loosened them right up, and it made playing a...

Re: Quick question on technique for double strokes

Maybe the problem is deeper than that I know, but as a suggestion why not work on your double strokes at a slow tempo with your left hand holding the stick the same spot as the right. Once it gets...

Re: How was my drumming on this song?

I agree with the last post. You should work on your timing and getting your rolls to sound cleaner, not to be rude but they sounded sloppy in that song. Play less busily and focus more on feeling the...

Re: Improvement

Ok.. then substitute 7 months for 3 months.

The number of months shouldn't matter to you, read the rest of the post.

Re: Improvement

I don't understand how you can stop progressing in only 3 months of playing. You should start learning to play songs that you find difficult or challenging. Maybe you should check out your technique,...

Re: Hi Hat foot trouble

I'm guessing that the hi hat foot is playing something constant? like 8th notes?
It all comes together with time don't worry about it too much. Just make sure that you feel comfortable with your...

Re: Again Rudiment Question

Do what he said, but I wouldn't worry about getting the buzz roll down yet, switch that for paradidles!

Re: Double Stroke Technique

Thanks for the reply. And I know what you mean about the 2nd accent. I've been developing the pushpull technique over the last week. So all in all, are you saying don't worry about playing it at a...

Double Stroke Technique

I've been on the forums for a long time, but I just registered, had a question to ask :) I've been playing drums for a bit longer than a year.

My double stroke roll up to this point hasn't been...
