Three Trapped Tigers
I can't find anything about them in the forums.
I think they're one of the more exciting live acts I've seen relatively recently.
They kind of remind me of Squarepusher's "Ultravisitor"...

Re: sell acoustic to go electric?
If it's a choice between no drums or electric drums you'd have to go electric. I got an electric kit to practice on (TD12) but would never get rid of my acoustic kit as it means a lot to me and I...

Re: Joe Morello
One of my all time favourite drummers. I actually felt a sense of loss when I heard he died - probably because I've listened to him and enjoyed his playing for so long he'd become part of my life. ...

Re: making faces when playing
I've been told the face I pull when playing is basically the same as when one is doing the no pants dance.
Unfortunately, this appears to be true and I assume it is the case for other drummers. ...

Re: need a little help, hand cramp
Speaking from personal experience I'd make sure you have not got Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or RSI before you start getting into stretching and stuff like that. The pain you describe is what happened to...

Re: What to practice without drums
Plenty o' good suggestions here.
Personally, when I was in your situation I just got a Real Feel pad and got stuck into some rudiments. That alone got me through almost a year without playing...

Re: Pirating, us and the future.
Firstly mate, I was born in the eighties. Secondly, you're right; we don't have direct proof that if labels had more money they'd invest in more new artists. However, as labels apparently have less...

Re: Pirating, us and the future.
My ten cents:
Pirating music, in my opinion, has made it incredibly difficult for new acts to come through. Piracy has dented labels profits and therefore budgets. Labels just don't take risks...

Re: Ginger Baker talking garbage....
I'm not surprised by this. Ginger Baker is far too arrogant for his own good.
He was never that good in my opinion; technically or musically. Plus, his playing nowadays is way below par. In...

Re: Do you have integrity?!? Cover band related...
Personally, I prefer to play original stuff but I'm not against playing covers. As long as you get something out of it - whether it's experience, enjoyment or just some needed money, then it's all...

Haha, what a coincidence. I sent a remarkably similar email to the management at the Jazz Cafe this morning. I've not received any sort or reply though.
Here's my letter:
I am a fan of...

Re: The Big Kits vs. Small Kits Debate
I used to be all about the big kit. Now I play 5 (2 snares, 2 toms, bass).
I find that it makes me play things I like to hear. Don't know why. Maybe my mind is more focused on the smaller kit...

Ginger Baker at the Jazz Cafe
I went to go and watch Ginger Baker last night; something I was very much looking forward to. Especially as the gig was billed to include "very special guests from throughout Ginger's career". So,...

Re: Strange Drum Habits
First and foremost I like to sit and look at my drums. I can just sit and look at them for ages.
I must have the logo on the head in line with the badge on the drum.
If someone plays with...

Irreplaceable drumming items you own
Please forgive me if there’s already a post like this, but I couldn’t find one.

Re: My 'Less Drums' Enlightenment
I cut my 7 down to a 5 piece about 18 months ago (got two snares so it's a normal 4 piece setup plus and extra snare to the left of the hihats).
It's so nice to mix it up every now and then. ...

Re: R.I.P.: Mitch Mitchell
What a great drummer and influence upon my playing. I used to emulate him all the time when I was younger. Truly memorable drum tracks!
A sad day, but at least he had a great life.
RIP...

Goodbye to chops and hello cops!
How do you rob a bank?
Not with a music stand, as Steve Thompson will probably tell you:

Went to a charity shop at the weekend and picked up a Count Basie LP for £2. When I got it home it had a program from his 1989 tour of the uk, a ticket stub from the London show (with Dizzy...

Rock drummers 'are top athletes'

All footballers ever do is whine or pretend to be injured! Not us drummers. Good old Clem helps to set the record straight.
"Rock drumming in...
