Re: Buddy Rich Playing Matched Grip!

My bad Matt, I have nothing but the utmost respect for Jim Chapin and was unaware of his opinion regarding traditional versus matched grips. I have watched some of his videos and always admired his...

Re: Buddy Rich Playing Matched Grip!

That "old trad cat" had monster facility in both hands using both traditional and matched grips. I also don't find any evidence that Chapin had Kyphosis.

Your opinions only....not fact as you so...

Re: Do you own (or want to own) both acoustic and electric kits?

I have to agree with this. Since I bought my ekit, a Roland TD 11kv and added an extra crash cymbal to mirror my acoustic kit set up, I have put much more time into practice without annoying my...

Re: Behind the scenes at Guru Drums - video.

That was worth the 9 plus minutes it took to watch that. Can you say "handcrafted"? Great look into how much time and care goes into making a fine instrument. Listening to the audio clips while...

Re: Anger, dismay and confusion

Our trio has video recorded the last 13 months of rehearsals to see what we sounded like and looked like....agreed it is an excellent tool and an eye opener to say the least.

Re: Priced to High??

I removed the add....after sleeping on it, it seemed crazy to sell them for $750 or so. A trade might be a good idea. I'll have to investigate that.

Re: Priced to High??

Yeah, cheers Dutch, shipping would be a bugger!

Re: Priced to High??

For a small venue or jazz...

Re: Does the Tune-Bot work like they say?

Dennis, I never said your quote didn't apply, and maybe sometimes I shouldn't be so brief in my replies. I know you have tested the Tune-Bot extensively. I do like mine and I have some hearing loss...

Re: Standards

I can so relate. I settled for less than what I desired with the last two bands and I won't do it again. It just sucks the life out of you when you aren't happy with your musical situation. I did it...
