Re: Brian Tichy: The Importance of Consistency

This isn't exclusive for the drummer, all musicians should learn how to play in time, but since a lot of them don't emphasize time, they look to the drummer as a scapegoat.

Re: Let's talk about THIS Vinnie video

Compare that vid/clinic where Vinnie is younger (I'll guess it was in the 80's) with this more recent one (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSn5SGQ29Ps) where he's older.

Major tuning differences...

Re: 2014 Snare Drum Olympics - The/our results!

DTS got knocked (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XCqKuF1mqc&list=UUHR18RQMQBQYWR-Eom0tDiw&index=26)for a perceived potential bottom-out scenario also.

Re: 2014 Snare Drum Olympics - The/our results!

The 'feel' of a drum is very important to me, wood hoops do change the feel. On the whole, lighter drums tend to feel better to me than heavier ones.

Will be interesting to hear bermuda's take on...

Re: Possibly my first serious thread. Sexism.

Its not you, or what you represent (the divine feminine), its the person.

Feeling offended by perceived sexism, racism, handicap etc. is just feeding the vibration. If you offend someone by being...

Re: Help identify a Premier drum set

You/he has options, could sell the drums separate from the hardware (assuming there's probably hardware in that case), and also sell the cymbals separate... this would yield the most money, but also...

Re: bass drum claws

So 32 to 40 bends that might or might not work, good case for just buying the correct claws.

Keep in mind bass drum hoops have a head side and a claw side, its not uncommon for them to be...

Re: Really, was this planned...?

True, but drums are not like action figures, drums need to be seen to be appreciated and played to be fully appreciated.

Also I don't know any drum collectors who aren't drummers themselves too,...

Re: Yamaha Live Custom Oak - opinions?

If you want to be like the man (http://www.drummagazine.com/gear/post/a-glimpse-of-elvin-jones-gear/), you have to accessorize like 'the' man (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pHulrp03qnk).

Re: bass drum claws

All claws do not fit all hoops b/c all hoops are not the same thickness.

Hoop thickness determines what claw to use. Good luck determining what thickness hoop any given claw fits, the easiest way...

Re: Judge Says Teen Drummer's Playing Isn't a Nuisance
