I'm using Emperor Xs on all toms n stock PDP reso heads... maybe they are too sensitive and resonate really easily?

It's tuned pretty low. Sounds really deep and 'boomy' without my toms tuned like they are right now.

I do somewhat agree with that but sometimes they have hidden things like warped hoops, damaged/warped wood, or dented bearing edges. It's happened to me before.
