Re: Is it a MUST to know all rudiments?

Ya know, I have met drummers back in the day that didn't know a flam from a quarter note. But, if you heard them play, you'd be amazed! They have essentially, learned from just hearing and watching...

Re: Is it a MUST to know all rudiments?

Its not a MUST, but it sure does help. But if you're one of those people that are always against rules and the traditional way of doing things, I believe you can still learn and enjoy to play the...

Re: I stunk up the place....

I agree with brady, its about playing from the heart to please that one being that gave you the talent to play in the first place. I too play on Sundays with the church band. Compared to my rock...

Re: Confidence

The simplest way to look at this is to "Do What You Know" or "Play What You Know". Once, you start straying away from this, your risk for failure goes up and your confidence goes down. I believe...

Re: Confidence

So, "Confidence" is a state of mind. I don't believe there is such thing as "fake" confidence...you either have it or you don't.. For example, in drumming, you generally gain confidence by...

Re: (Golf) Gloves for Drumming

It depends on what you are playing. I play in a Rock band and I use gloves with matched grip, but when I play with my church band I don't use gloves and play with traditional grip. Here are the Pros...

Drums on Melissa Etheridge's "Yes I Am"

I was just listening to Melissa Etheridge's "Yes I Am" cd. Her drummer, Mauricio-Fritz Lewak, put down some very cool tracks. It has one of the best sounding drums I've heard. For some songs that...

Re: Is this a good deal?

It sure sounds like a great deal to me. $400 for all that ? Shoot, the dbl pedal alone would probably cost over $200 new. Anyway, I agree, you will need to replace all the heads to bring it back to...

Re: Simple question?

I was 17 once with a crappy set of drums. I hear ya. You want a set of drums that you can be proud of. I say go for it, man ! However, I don't recommend an electric set. It just doesn't compare...

Re: How long does it take you to set up?

Yeah, I hate setups and breakdowns. The actual setup time takes me about 20 - 25 mins (5 pc, 5 cymbals). But, I don't mind this part near as much as moving the stuff from my car to the studio...

Re: New Drumset Decisions (Renown Maple vs 3007)

Great looking drumset AudioTech ! Yeah, I need to drive down to GuitarCtr and checkout the Gretsch sound. I have a good idea on how the Sonor will sound, which should be a bit better than my 2001s....
