Re: 2014 Vater Drummies

I agree with most of them. I would have liked to see Gavin Harrison winning the progressive metal one, Mike Johnston the clinician one, and Charlie or Abe the metal one. Just my opinion though.

Re: Abe Cunningham

I would finger tighten the resonant head and then give another full turn around each lug. Then for the batter head, I would crank that thing up pretty much all the way, maybe a little less than...

Re: Negative Progress / Quitting

Hey man,

Sorry to hear that. What it sounds like to me, is that you need to introduce some other hobbys/activities into your life that arent about drumming, or music. Maybe you're playing too much...

Re: Buying options, need help!

Then what if you get a five piece silverstar or catalina which is around $600 and then spend the rest on cymbals?

Re: Buying options, need help!

I mean they're good if you plan to use them for a year at most. I got a ZBT pack a while ago and they're all finished except for the bottom hi-hat. I think if you have a $1000 bucks for drums and...

Re: Buying options, need help!

These are all more in the $500 range but I think if you got one of the kits I mentioned above which are all around $900, you'll even out your budget.

Re: Buying options, need help!

You said you want to spend $1000? Is that just for the kit or for the kit and the cymbals too?

If this is the case, I would if I were in your shoes, buy a four or five piece shell pack, in the...

Re: Buying options, need help!

Well they're both really great kits, I've only played the Gretsch a few times in a four piece and it sounded great. I own the Silverstar so I might be a little biased here cuz I hear it everyday.
