Re: Hitting yourself while playing drums...

Heheh yeah it doesn't feel too good. I was playing the big drum solo in Wipeout (You know, the tom rolls) and hit myself RIGHT in the nose.

Re: Abe Laboriel Jr.

Abe is a monster! I saw him live, and whenever he does the famous Ringo solo, he does it like it's on steroids!

Here's a funny video of him in Cincinnati (this is the concert I was at):...

Double bass or not?

I don't really like double bass pedals, and I stick to a single pedal. I never really play songs that require double bass. What do you think?

Re: John Desmore's drum set

Wow! John is probably one of my favorite drummers ever, and his kits never cease to amaze me. Very beautiful. And yes, I think it's Keystone... not sure though.

Re: Greatest Classic Rock Song

I love and respect Zeppelin, but Stairway is WAY too overplayed. And so is Freebird. But they both deserve to be one of the greatest Rock songs ever.

Re: For Those Who Dislike The Beatles

I hate when people say that The Beatles were overrated. Uh.... NO THEY WEREN'T. They're called the greatest band ever because they WERE the greatest band ever!

Re: I need help!!!

@ Bermuda

Thanks. But is it a MAJOR thing to read music all the time? Because I can, it's just that I prefer doing it by ear. Some people say it's better to do by ear, and some think it's better...

Greatest Classic Rock Song

I know this isn't all about drumming, but I'm curious and wanted to ask your opinion.

I'd say Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd, but my favorite (not BEST... FAVORITE) is Sunshine Of Your Love by Cream....

Ugh.... 2012 was a bad year. Davy Jones... Whitney Houstin... and now Robin Gibb. Why do the good one have to go?

Re: How do you guys learn songs?

I usually listen through songs and play by ear. If I want to learn fills better or the song is hard, I look at the sheet music. I recommend Songsterr.

I need help!!!

Okay, so I've been playing drums for about 4 years now and I usually play by ear. I can play sheet music just as well, but i prefer drumming by ear than with sheet music. Many fellow drummers I know...

Re: Ringo Starr... Good or bad?

@bruin

I agree, and if anyone thinks Ringo isn't that good should listen to "Rain" or "The Word".
