Power Tone is the same drum in 1970 and Holiday was in 1968 Both are five...

Steel Gray Ripple is a beautiful color.
As for the BD, the damage has pretty much been done. Convert it over and play it proudly.

150 is a great price on the Blue Onyx. Expect to spend another 300 on restoration with correct parts. If you drill holes in them for those damnable pipe...

The answer to your primary question must be no. One is not necessarily better than the other.
I currently own 15 Rogers Dyna-Sonic snare drums. The earliest is unplayable. The lugs are cracked....
