Exactly why I dont play gigs were I have to share my kit.

Steve's playing is made more impressive due to the fact he's had a stroke. His left side is riddled with problems, loss of feeling, partial paralysis ect.

If you can, get the Strata White. Might cost you a couple of bucks more because it isnt on the list fo your model. But it would look sweet on a jazz kit.

IMO its like the virgin kick debate. 10 lugs dont cost much more but, with all the advertising convincing us that 10 are better, they charge you a fortune for them.

I always tune the drum I have the hardest time getting a good sound out of. Then I tune the rest of the kit around it.

I love a well tuned set of concert toms. Lars sound great on the old Metallica cd's (pre Jusitice) so do Nicko McBrains on LIve After Death.

Agreed. Check your bearing edges, check your hoops put on some Pinstripes, tune them up real nice and you'll have a good sounding kit.
