Re: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY?

Joe! Good to see you after how many years? :D

I always tell them "two up, two down". When they start whining about it I just say "do your job, hump..." HAHAHA

Re: Musicians Say streaming Music will Leave them Broke.

Re: Drummer Metronome

Just get a metronome app on your phone. I use Metronome Pro. What you should be doing is training your brain to lock into a flashing light. That's the way to really get good with it...but learn it...

Re: Negative Progress / Quitting

Oftentimes when you feel as if you're getting worse it's not because you are "getting worse" but because your awareness is expanding and you hear more things that you used to didn't perceive.

Re: EGO's

We all have ego. It's a mechanism that defines us and who we are. That being said, it's never OK to subjugate or belittle someone using that ego.

My ego is pretty inflated but it's in check (most...

Re: Negative Progress / Quitting

When you feel like you're taking backwards steps it's only to get a running start. Find a teacher.

Re: Open handed technique

I was on a disco gig for 7 years and it was boring a lot of the time so I began playing open handed. Did wonders for my left hand!

However it's kinda like going vegan; you can't just switch one...

Re: Open handed technique

You're leading with the weaker hand and it'll cross up your brain in a sense. :D Also since you're not crossing over, your mobility is increased. Problem is that when you're a righty playing open...

Re: Is Dennis Chambers ill?

We opened for them a couple of months ago and I didn't recognize him. He suffered a fall a little while back and his doctor told him to lose weight. At least that's the "official" word.

Re: What drummers have marched?

I never could march. Tried it, kept getting busted for not being in step. So I went back to jazz band. :D

Re: Transporting a drum set when homeless?

I've been where you are and I think you're putting the cart before the horse. The main thing YOU need to concern yourself with is getting a static place to keep your stuff and yourself. The Homeless...

Re: Breaking into the NEXT LEVEL! Any practical wisdom for an eager young player?

I've been throwing it all to the wind for over 30 years now and do not intend on ever stopping. My creative mind is what pays my way in this world and that's just kinda how it all comes around for...
