Re: What was your toughest gig?

As a kid and beginning drummer I played a lot of Kiss plus whatever rock and pop was common at the time. Bear in mind this is 36 years ago.

One day the guy who is known as the Best Guitar Player...

Re: Recording Help - Reaper

LOL! Not a pile of junk. Just trickier to get working. It'll happen though!

Never played with latency offset myself. This may be a question for the Reaper forum.

Re: Recording Help - Reaper

Definitely reduce the buffer to eliminate the latency. Experiment with various settings until you get what you need.

I should mention that latency was the primary issue that made me ditch my HP...

Re: Recording Help - Reaper

No problem Eric. Ok... by Platform I mean PC or Mac. The reason I ask is that PCs can be a bit more of a nightmare to work with than Macs when it comes to music. For work - PC. For art and music...

Re: Recording Help - Reaper

It sounds like you've got things set up correctly. I'm a bit unclear when you say "the levels for each aren't right". While you describe a high bass drum volume you don't mention any other mic. ...

Re: Should I wait to get new drum heads?

Stick with a winner. Don't wait to be a pioneer testing new gear (whenever it may come out). Let others get the arrows in the back.

Buy the heads you know. Play and enjoy them. If Remo...

Re: Is It Common For Some People Not To Take Care of Their Gear?

I have CDO. It's like OCD but the letters are in the correct order. LIKE THEY SHOULD BE.

Having said that, I can't see spending thousands of dollars on gear only to let it rot away. I take...

Re: Guiness- Largest Drum set

I think the lava lamps are a critical piece of kit!

Crazy? Yes!

But I'd still like to play it for a few minutes : D

Re: Letting others borrow equipment

No! Unless you want to hear stories instead of getting your gear back.

Don't do it!!!

Re: Ludwig "Carl Palmer" Piccolo Surprises

I picked one up earlier this year and absolutely love it! Same gripe about the nuts though. Did you make sure that you got the autographed sticker inside the drum? You should be able to see it...

Re: Alan Meyers RIP

Very sad to hear. I was just working on Satisfaction two weeks ago. Awesome style. He'll be sadly missed.

Re: Why I don't play V-Drums

I have to play a set of V-Drums with one of the bands I jam with. It's a nice Roland set.

I absolutely HATE them. I find after an hour of playing them my hands, which are decaying with age, hurt...

Re: Drum finishes - a natural debate

Huge fan of natural wood myself. Frankly, the opinion of a bunch of bass players doesn't really affect my line of thinking ; )

Ever since I was a young drummer I felt that wrapping a resonating...

Re: Alex Van Halen

I saw Van Halen's first tour at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. I think the tour actually began in Toronto. I was 14 at the time and was with with my old band. We had really good seats.

At the...

Re: Rivet Buzz

Thanks everyone again for the tips on grommet repair (not rivet as I mistakenly mentioned in the thread title). I'm going to try a few when I have a chance this weekend.

Now I'm off to have a...

Re: Rivet Buzz

Thanks for the replies everyone. I sent an email to the shop where I purchased the drums to see what they think. Unfortunately I live 100 miles away so popping by with the drum is no easy feat. My...

Thanks for the replies everyone!

@Topgun - Very cool. I have a similar product (pic attached) which I used to port my kick. That's what got me thinking about doing the toms. It'll make down to...

Anyone port their toms?

I tried searching on this topic and got a lot of stuff about porting kicks. I apologize if this has been covered before but I haven't been able to find anything.

Porting toms; Anyone doing it? ...

Rivet Buzz

My 13" Gretsch Renown Maple has a buzz. Specifically the rivet on the badge makes a tiny, yet maddeningly audible buzzing noise when I strike the tom. Has anyone experienced this? Any idea on how...

I find this thread interesting. I have only seen one Best Buy with a music department here in Ontario, Canada. There are apparently 2. There have been rumours of its closing but the staff insists...
