Re: Have you ever met a famous drummer?

I've met Billy Ward and Tommy Aldridge. Awesome guys, both in playing and personalities.

Re: Great drummers - quotes

When asked about doing drum clinics Tommy Aldridge said "It beats a jab in the ass with a frozen carrot!"

Re: Trained VS self taught?

Self taught = I used to bang on my drums.

Trained = I play my drums now.

Re: Are there still alot of single pedaller's out there?

Count me in! I still haven't mastered the single so I see no reason to move to a double. At least that's my reasoning. Someday maybe?

Re: Broken Rib Cartilage...

If you are a drinker, couple of shots of booze may help as well. Of course don't go overboard.

I'm with Polly...what does you doctor say about the situation?

Autism is a great cause to play...

Re: Other uses for drum gear/parts

I used a couple of old Remo cymbal stands for the 10" speakers that came with my PA system. Works Great!

Re: Rehearsed On New Medication - Not Cool At All

Could it be that you are thinking more about not having the cigarette and it is keeping you from thinking about playing? I quit smoking back in 2000. I just didn't buy the next pack. It was very hard...

Re: Falling forwards when playing heel up?

It sounds like you are leaning forward. Straighten your back and maybe adjust your throne up a little. I'd really like to see a picture of you playing to understand what is going on better.

Re: Playing exactly...

I understand the whole "make it your own" deal. I really do, but, when I hear a cover band playing I song I know and like and I don't hear a crash when I know there was one in the original, I feel...

Re: Ludwig Accent or Rockers for a 12 pack

The two splashes alone are worth $50. Nice score indeed!

Re: Why did you start drumming?

When I was 11yrs old I hated playing the trombone and thought drumming would be easier (it's not, btw) and my goal is to start a band or join one.

Re: I don't think this is a rant but....

When I see some really good drumming, I tell myself that if I practiced that song I too could play it. If I practiced that piece of music, I too could play it. I'm just either not interested or too...

Re: Ludwig Accent or Rockers for a 12 pack

I'd give him the $50 and the 12 pack. I'd also help him drink it!

Re: Playing with records to develop great feel.

It's the only way I will ever get to jam with Randy Rhoads or have my butt handed to me by John Bonham.

Although I did find myself telling band mates "That's not how that part of the song goes"....

Re: Playing with records to develop great feel.

Yep, I thought I was cooking until I hit the playback button and found all kinds of trouble. Recording yourself will open your eyes.

Re: ...so it looks like I`m a better drummer when I`m drunk
