Re: Can a reso head kill the sustain?

Re: Little bar gigs with a V-drum TD9?

Why not, Aydee? I know a drummer even played an SPD live, so why should V-Drums be a problem?

Re: Is Ludwig Classic Maple tom's sound always vintage?

You're right. I didn't notice that the bearing edges are actually rounded, which is the case of the "vintage" version (while the modern version has sharp angled bearing edges like Sqadan said). It...

Is Ludwig Classic Maple tom's sound always vintage?

Sorry if there was any similar thread before.

I like this kit, it comes with stock heads, but I'm wondering if it's just me or the sound is really always vintage to everyone's ears. It sounds like...

Re: Roland 9 k

I don't have the TD-9KX either (I own a TD-4KX), but I played a TD-9K once. The KX is equipped with the pads used on TD-12K. These pads are much more expensive than rubber pads hence big difference...

Re: duuuude!!!!

Couldn't agree more ....!

13" A Custom is also excellent. Not sure if it's better than the K, both are excellent, it depends on your taste.

Re: Drum Workshop Worth The Cash?

I used to play DW Collector's Maple kit on stage albeit I've never owned one. In my opinion DW does have the quality for the price, but I'm sure this quality can be obtained in some other lower...

Re: Bad Drums

Actually there is (at least) a bad drum kit: Pearl Target.

Target and Forum series that are available today are the new versions that were introduced just lately. I don't know about the new...

Re: Which one's the best

There's no "better than ....." kit, all are high quality drums and of course good. They're just made of different wood materials hence different tonal characteristics except Starclassic Maple and...

Re: sell the yammie?

If you're not short of cash I suggest that you keep the Tour Custom. Having 2 sets isn't a bad idea at all.

Btw, are you sure the tom is 8x12? AFAIK the Tour doesn't produce 8x12, but 9x12, and it...

Re: What's the best mid-range acoustic kit?

From the options you're considering, I assume birch is your preference. Among these three, Vision VBX is full birch, a bit more expensive than the others. But you can opt VSX or VX which are less...

Re: anyone have any experience with ACRYLIC drums?

I used to play a 70's Ludwig acrylic. It was very popular back then for its unique looks. I had no problem whatsoever with its sound. Of course it's different from wood drums, but still there's...
