Re: Simple songs that are not so simple

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbG6M28UkFg

Re: Funny ways to count off songs...

Ding Ding Ding!

Haha, I haven't used it to count in yet, but I've threatened to. I was always scared of getting tongue tied trying to count that out.

Re: Is the drummer always the last to know?

My band is pretty good at communicating all band plans. There's only 3 of us, so that helps.

However, I got a call last week from another band needing me to fill in for a gig this past Saturday....

Re: How does a drummer think?

I currently play in a cover band that covers a very wide spectrum and covers a lot of material. I had to develop my own way of learning new songs as we learn 6-8 new songs each week. I try to play...

Re: Cymbal quality doesnt matter?

Personally, I couldn't wait to upgrade from my budget cymbals a few years ago. I could care less how they looked. I just simply couldn't handle the harshness of them. It almost made me not want to...

Re: Should I restore this keystone badge Ludwig kit?

Oh I see, I missed that in the description. I thought all granitone was speckled, that looks solid to me. But like it was said, the pics aren't clear.

Re: Should I restore this keystone badge Ludwig kit?

I don't think those are granitone shells are they? Granitone is quite obvious, these look like maple to me.

Re: Trouble with my new PDP hi-hat stand :(

I believe the 2 screws you loosened is what hold the spring in place. If the rod dropped down, I'd say the spring is no longer attached properly. I'm not sure how you would correct this without...

Re: snare shell resonance on a snare stand

Snare shells definitely resonate. As long as you don't clamp down on the bottom hoop, it shouldn't matter which stand you use. Just set it in the basket, and tighten it until it just touches the rim,...

Re: Bar fight

I'd say a drummer who goes around looking for fights doesn't keep a job for too long. However, a drummer who is willing to stand up for his mates probably stays hired haha.

Unfortunately, we were the main focus of a fight, about 2 shows in with my new band. Up until that point, I hadn't played with any bands that played the bar scene, so this was definitely a new...

I guess I qualified as a semi-lurker up until a while back. Once I joined, I visited the site many times a week for a couple years, only posting very few times.

The main reason behind that was I...

Re: Cracked head during show

I always carry a used spare snare head in my snare case. However, if I was caught without a spare, I always have 2 backup snare heads on my 14" floor tom...single (reso) or double ply (batter), take...
