Re: DW Designer Series

I too, recently had a chance to play on a design kit at the Big Drum Bonanza and, I must say.....I was blown away by the tone and construction of these drums.

So much in fact that I bought a kit...

Re: Making Ends Meet Between Tours?

Plus, if there IS "all this talent" in Nashville....why are "Da big dogs" there hiring guys out of Ft Lauderdale?

Could it be that they're looking for more than "talent"?

Re: Making Ends Meet Between Tours?

But, that didn't mean that you didn't already have (or weren't already using) the skills to work in that field right? Or did you just go out there blind without already having a grasp on what it was...

Re: Making Ends Meet Between Tours?

It really is surprising to me that there are so many musicians/bands that think moving to another town or city is going to make something happen that hasn't happened where they currently are.

If...

Re: Mixers with built in compression

What Bo said. I've used one for my touring rig for many, many years and it (and me) did the job better than most sound guys. haha.

Re: Daniel Liljekvist leaves Katatonia to "get a normal job that gets the bills payed"

Well, it sorta is but, being in a band has a little more complicated mechanisms, than just balancing your own life endeavors.

I tried and tried to balance out my band and my life but, being that I...

Re: Daniel Liljekvist leaves Katatonia to "get a normal job that gets the bills payed"

It's too bad to see all these dudes getting out.

I get it though....I was forced out of my own band in 2006 for the same reason. Haha.

Re: Daniel Liljekvist leaves Katatonia to "get a normal job that gets the bills payed"

That's one part of it but, the majority of it at this point is expenses. Gas to pinpoint it exactly.
Gas on a whole is 3 times higher than it was 10 years ago. Gas goes up and guarantees go down...

Do these 4 combos at various tempos. Within your comfort and push tempo out of your comfort level and come back.

Re: Sonor Designer or DW Collectors?

Sonor shells with rings and DW shells are almost identical as far as sound is concerned (because of the construction).

Now, the designers will most likely have straight shells. What you need to do...

Re: rare yamaha stage custom ive bought

Your drums are first generation Stage Customs made in 1996. They moved to indo (if memory serves me correctly in the late 90s / early 2000s...I could be wrong there).
They are the same construction...

Re: What's the best pedal technique study?

Run "Stick Control" with your feet. that'll help a bunch.

Play with your left foot when you can. Use the right only for stuff you can't play with your left.

As far as a better...

Hey Allen...thanks brother. Means a lot.

You know....I'm known for playing "Extreme Metal" but, when I started playing drums (1977) there wasn't "extreme metal". I grew up playing southern rock,...

Re: What do you think about Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R)

I'm confused.

Isn't this what the OP originally asked?

Did the members here not give accurate descriptions of his playing?

Re: I don't wanna play exercises like 'exercises'.....

This is a fairly easy one and something I've done as long as I've been "practicing".

Simply work on your exercises to music. Try to make the exercise "work" with the melodies and rhythms of the...

Although, the first time I actually saw it being used was Kenwood Dennard (if my timeline is correct).

Harder to...
