Re: Ed Greene

Discovered this late... I think Ed also made some tracks for Barry White. Seriously awesome pocket.

Re: Pork Pie Little Squealer Maple, anyone got it?

I just got a hold of one and it has tons of crack and volume. It does become shallow rather quick if you tune too high. I've been weighing my head options to see where should I go with it.

Re: Intermediate drum set advice

Church.

That will get you through most any live playing situation. In the local underground scene we used to have backlines. No one changed kits. Usually, there were just too many bands on the...

Re: Tastefully Overplayed

I'll start by saying Neil is my favorite drummer, period. "Overplaying" is a term I've heard used to describe Neil's playing on several occasions. Although I find it hard to agree, I just threw...

Re: Tastefully Overplayed

I think Neil Peart has made a career out of this, my favorite being "Subdivisions".

Re: RANT: Disappointed in Sonor

That was my idea, which was extensively shot down in this thread due to it being somehow unreasonable. Apparently living in the tropics can bring about numerous caveats when it comes to expecting...

Re: My First Ludwig Acrolite

Indeed. The older, gray Acro sounds drier, sharper and QUITE louder (at least to my ears). Over the years, every time I re-purchased a "blacro", although the sound was pretty much the same, I just...

Re: RANT: Disappointed in Sonor

DSOP,

Here is a picture of the claw assembly. The t-rod goes thru the part from the hole on the left:

The t-rod Sonor made back then was their...

Re: RANT: Disappointed in Sonor

The inserts are not sold separately. The entire claw-gasket assembly needs to be purchased.

I am expecting an after-market replacement to come in early next week. I have tried three sets...

Re: RANT: Dissapointed in Sonor

What is this supposed to mean? Why would I lie? How would I have fixed these pictures? I understand you might think I'm exaggerating, but to imply such a thing would be going to similar lengths...

Re: My First Ludwig Acrolite

I'm glad you enjoy it. Great price, too. Me, I've had four (4) of these and eventually let go of all of them. Of course, I was following the general lore. However, no matter how hard I tried to...

Re: Sonor S-Class Pro

11 years ago this summer I paid $1,500 for a new four shell pack (10-12-14-22). You gotta watch out for the bass drum claws tho: heat and stuff can ruin them in the long run. Soundwise, however,...

Re: Good exercises for developing mobility around the set?

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11769202-cross-sticking-studies

Mr. Ron Spagnardi (RIP) wrote a couple of books on the subject. They were focused keenly on the subject at hand. I suggest...

My P-86 does NOT fit in my Supra!

It seems I need to enlarge the holes and file either one of them to make the separation distance about 1/16" wider. Anyone here ever had this problem before?

Re: RANT: Dissapointed in Sonor

I can see I used the wrong term, and maybe that leads to some assumptions as to what the tone of my message is. However, I don't think that alone was off-putting enough that Sonor would make a...

Re: RANT: Dissapointed in Sonor

I do live in the tropics, so it's a given that weather comes into play. However, the wood, paint and metal have all held up to what I hate to admit have been less that ideal conditions.

RANT: Disappointed in Sonor

I had the rubber in my drumset's bass drum claws break down on me. The set is 10 yrs. old. The claws are now unusable and my set is out of service.

I shared a message and some pics on another...
