The 'nome increments that I was thinking of are the traditional ones which appear on a good old analog version. Don't have one before me, but they go like 120, 126, 132...etc. ...

Galoshes. The black rubber ones that go up about mid-shin, with four metal clasps. If you're over 35 or so, you'll remember them. Great retro look, great retro feel.

hmmmm...sheer coincidence: yesterday, my drumming teacher brought a copy of the Chad / Ian thing for the London Drum Company done back in 2004. Chad was def a bit over the top with the clowning...
