Re: Popcorn Snare suggestions

I use mine as main snare 90% of gigs. I tune all of mine (I have three 12" and one 13") pretty low so I get a great crushed roll sound. Works great for my jazz-infused blues trio.

Re: Arthritis in Foot - Looking for Kick Drum Alternatives

Ankle is beyond repair or medical intervention. I had spinal cord tumor that damaged my rt leg and foot as a child. Triple ankle joint fusion at 30 and redo 15 years later, plus several...

Re: Arthritis in Foot - Looking for Kick Drum Alternatives

The Roland was a fail. I don't have enough control of my foot. It's not gonna be the answer.

Re: Recommendations on 20x12 or Smaller Kick

Thanks for heads up. Yeah they are great kits. I looked for one and none were available. It's cool they now have some available. I ended up buying maple Sonor AQ2 in a beautiful WMP wrap with a 14" x...

Re: Buying a second hand 60's Ludwig drum set

And, if it's to replace your regular gigging kit and you're not just buying it as a collectable, I'd look at a lot of different kits. You can get a way-better new kit for a lot less than $1,300 US...

Re: Buying a second hand 60's Ludwig drum set

In USA you could do better than $1,300 I think. Depends on demand and scarcity in Eu. There are more old Ludwig's for sale here in USA than any other brand. Not sure about Eu. While I think it is a...

Re: Is this crazy?

I never re-tune for a venue. Other my snare I rarely re-tune anything even at home.

Re: New Inde Snare Drums

I think they look great. And yeah I wish they - and every drum company - had more 13" snares.

Re: THe Conway Slingerlands have been Rescued

We're back on topic...

Yeah...the only kits bought by the 2 members here and only kits for sale on eBay are Made in Taiwan and really have nothing to do with the original Slingerland or anything made in Arkansas. That's...

Re: THe Conway Slingerlands have been Rescued

Slingerland Drums and Hardware Made in Taiwan or Product of Taiwan. Something like that on what looks like the kick box and floor tom box. High tom must have been nested in one of them. Another small...

Re: Beware When Ordering from Canada

FedEx does same thing. They push each employee to work x amount of seconds faster each day. I don't think USPS does that, and this was a Canada Post/ USPS post delivery.

Re: Worst expensive snare you've ever owned?

A DW with those big turret lugs. Looked ugly and sounded very muted and lifeless.

Re: Poor Mapex
