Classic would be Led Zepplin's "Kashmir" or "When the Levy Breaks" Also love to play Joe Walsh's "Turn To Stone".

Modern would be Foo Fighters "Miss The Misery" or "Dear Rosemary".

Re: I need advice for (politely) demanding more money.

Bro, I think with that last part of your post ( the 1,2,3) You just answered your own question. I don't think you could put it out there any better than that. I would hope they would be feeling the...

Re: Learning new music

I've been playing alittle over two years now. No band, just solo. more fun for me and thats why I started playing in the first place.....but any way,

There is so much truth to what you said in you...

Re: A few "giving drum lessons" questions

All good answers.

Personal opinion here. If I were to begin teaching, the evaluation would come first. Knowing exactly what he's wanting out of the lessons. If he's looking to just jam with band,...

Re: Can't hear my bass drum

Do you use any hearing protection or headphones? This can sometimes help with controlling the soundwaves. My opinion is since there is no absorbtion of the soundwaves, they just bounce all around you...

Re: How High Is The Front Of Your Bass Drum Off The Floor ?

I have mine a good 2" high. I've tried parallel to the floor and just like it better raised like it is now. I have no issues with my foot pedal either. I did this because I was advised that having it...

Re: I've Got Blisters on my Fingers!

I am curious if you use dipped sticks. The ones with rubber coating. If so, this might be some of the trouble. I went through this myself. I got rid of the rubber coated sticks an went with natural...

Re: Ringing overtones on a cheap kit

I have to agree with this. Check both the reso and the batter for his. Large floor toms are notorious for being a pain to tune. Some people criss-cross when checking this some take a clockwise around...

Re: How are burst finishes on drums applied?

I don't know thier processes, but if I were to try to duplicate a burst finish I would use stains and not paints. Thus avoiding any primers. The stain would also be translucent so the wood grain will...

Re: Do other drummers do this?

Hence the reason bad habits are hard to break. They are totaly embeded over a period of ime doing them. You can concentrate on staying away from bad habits but they seem to always creep back in...

Re: To what extent does your personality....

It seems to me like your confusing passion and styles for personality. I think drummers style and passions for a groove, feel or just loving to play drums comes through more than thier personality. I...

Re: Coming up with beats.

This was one of the things my instructor made me do before we were done. We sat there and I had to come up with different beat patterns from a simple 4/4 drum beat. Thats why I mentioned the...

Re: Anyone else have trouble first learning this rythm?

It's funny and I hate admitting this but a drum pattern I just love is from Bonhams Imagrant Song. I almost have it but theres just a small part with the bass thats eluding me. Whats so funny is that...

Re: Anyone else have trouble first learning this rythm?

Only thing I can add is keep it slow until your can do it in your sleep and then gradualy speed it up. When you get confident play it at full speed. Keep at and you'll get it.

Re: Little bass control, is it normal

Like everyone has said already, it's normal for a new drummer until you get strength built up in your legs.

Try....slowing everything down alittle and concetrate on being accurate and not on how...

Another thing to consider also is the massive size of how music is done today compaired to 30 years ago. Back then, you really almost had to have a deal with a major record company to get out there d...

Re: Rawness

I was alittle lost to the "raw music" terminoligy but I get it now. Basically unrefined music. Like being recorded live with no magic touch from the sound man. What you hear is what you get.

As...

14x6.5 Ludwig Black Magic Stainless. It has great pop and tone. I do also like my Gretsch maple snare also. Good tone.
