Re: Polishing Laquer Finish

I use a product called Woodpecker hardwood floor cleaner with a micro fibre cloth. It easily removes finger prints etc.. and leaves a nice shine on the laquer finish. This is a non wax product so it...

Re: KIS likes ply shells!

I could give a rats ass what they're made of nor how they're made as long as they sound good when hit with a blunt object.

The kit comes with a copy of Cubase AI. That will get you going on recording. You will then need a 1/4" cable that...

Re: Struggling with Snare tuning

I just watched the Bob Gatzen video and he is advising opposite of what some are suggesting and to tune the top head about 1/3 higher than the bottom. If bottom is A then he tune the top to C or C#....

Re: French Grip Finger Control

Its all about muscle control. You have no problems controlling your right because it what you've probably done all your life (if you right handed). Your left has just been along for the ride so to...

Re: I'm wrong handed and wrong footed, should I care?

Don't change a damn thing, playing open handed is a great technique that allot of drummers strive for. It allows you to maintain consistent Hihat/Ride patterns while running your right hand around...

So yes use heel up for faster 8th notes for sure, I do all the time.

Slower tempos I will use heel down. Just practice, practice practice.

One tip I can give is to...

Re: good drummer or not?

Ahh.. Well if he did have the tracks well in advance to practice and he had loops and a click track to reference for tempo, then I'd say keep looking for another drummer.

Re: good drummer or not?

Am I correct to assume all the time was spent trying to record from pre-recorded guitar and vocal tracks? If no time was spent rehearsing the song together with the band and he had no charts to work...

Re: I've lost the passion.

I agree with the lessons advise. You are frustrated at your progress on drums and the bass guitar seems to be fulfilling that desire to progress at something.
