ya, i'm seeing a somewhat contradictory cross-over too.

it seems a lot of newer artists are doing 'retro' explorations of bop, but they also are doing a lot of reworking of soul and rock music...

i was a huge tull fan growing up, so dug him by default. some people think its sounds really dated, and maybe it does, but i always liked the thick, thuddy drum sound he got. it worked really well...
